Mission Trips
Summer is quickly approaching and the preparations for our summer missions are in full swing! This year our mission teams began forming in February and we have 17 students gearing up for these trips! Part of each students responsibility is to research the culture of the area they are going to, research the vision and mission of the organization we will be assisting, define how Christ is working in their everyday lives, and share why they want to serve God!
We have been so encouraged by each students walk with God and their excitement to serve Him, not only during the summer but each day! We'll share an excerpt from one student's paper concerning, "Why do summer missions?"
"The reason that I would like to partake in this journey that will be taken into the vast jungle of the inner city of Chicago is that I know God can use me! Devoting 1 week of my life to serving others and God whole-heartedly should not be a monumental happening in my life, it is what I should be doing EVERY MONDAY morning before I head off to school. The reason I want to go on this trip is not because I would like to spend time with my friends and spend time in fellowship with other Christians, though those are great things, I know that God will use this trip and events leading to it, to teach me patience, unconditional love, and how to serve Him with my whole heart."

June 13-18: INNER CITY IMPACT
Our group will prepare and supply materials for block parties to be held each day in Humboldt Park and Logan Square neighborhoods. Through these block parties we will get a chance to minister through hours spent with kids, drama, as well as inviting families to attend the ICI Youth Center in their neighborhood where they will hear the gospel of Christ each week!
June 26-July 13: YOUTH WITH A MISSION
A smaller group of our students will join Y.W.A.M. in Tyler, Texas for an intensive discipleship course. After 2 weeks of training, team building, and deepening their relationship with the Lord, our teens will spend a week in Mexico ministering through drama, clown ministry, and V.B.S!
